Paul grew up in Charleston and has represented Design Professionals, Contractors, Owners and others in the construction industry for more than 20 years throughout South Carolina and beyond. In 2024, Paul started Sperry Law to concentrate on providing better representation for those in the construction industry. Sperry Law concentrates on providing general counsel representation for Design Professionals and Contractors including contract advice and negotiation, input during on going construction projects and advice on mitigation of risk and conflict avoidance. The firm also handles litigation matters such as payment claims, delay claims and other construction related disputes that end up in the courtroom or arbitration.

Paul was previously managing partner for a larger firm in Charleston with a heavy litigation practice that included insurance defense. Although he has left the insurance defense world, his prior experiences provide a unique perspective that benefits Paul’s clients including when he serves as personal counsel for defendants in professional liability and construction defect lawsuits.

Paul also mediates construction disputes and has taught numerous seminars on contracts, payment claims and best practices to avoid construction disputes. Simply put, Paul has done just about everything in the construction litigation and advice arena.

Paul was nominated by his peers and was honored as one of the top construction attorneys in the area by Charleston Business Magazine’s Legal Elite Feature in 2018.
